Sun Kil Moon "Tiny Cities;" Obrigado Bateria; Timbalada; Beck "Modern Guilt;" Radian "Juxtaposition"

I play drumset, percussion, and sing. I also play some guitar, keys, and melodica. My interest in music was sparked by the possibility of a train passing in close proximity to a solo drummer ... that kind of movement. Later I realized that the movement was overwhelming sound. Movement is overwhelming sound is movement. I love sound. Sound sparks imagination, emotion, insight, and a whole spectrum of actions/reactions. This is a lot of my attraction to recording music as well - this possibility to play in and shape sound worlds, to get acquainted with this spectrum more clearly. As a drummer I perform regularly with two bands - Os Magrelos and Beleza Brasil. Soon my solo project, rhythm Mantis, will perform too, at least once.

Have recently composed or performed words and/or music with the Miki Liszt Dance Company, Influx Dance, UVA Drama Department, and UVA Jazz Ensemble. I am currently composing and recording music for the film "My Best Friends R Strangers," to be released later this year. I am also working with a Modern Dance class at UVA this Fall.
